Hundreds of Cornwall Blind Association supporters are training up for an eleven mile sponsored walk, from Portreath to Devoran. This hike will follow the route of the mineral tramway and pass through beautiful countryside and in view of Cornwall’s industrial heritage.

The event on 19th March 2011 is the biggest the CBA has ever staged. The idea is not only to raise thousands of pounds to help support partially sighted people, but to also raise awareness of the amazing work that the charity’s supporters, volunteers and workers do every year.

This podcast looks forward to the event and hears from three people, from different circumstances, who are limbering up for the walk. One of them is partially sighted, one is a man who wants to honour the memory of his grandfather who lost an eye to cancer, and the third is a woman who has her whole pre-school, the pupils, and parents, taking part.
