Following a review of e-commerce websites in Cornwall, Niddocks.com is reporting that online turnover over this period is up 76% on last year ( These findings are relating to Cyber Monday in the week running 26/11/10-2/12/10 compared with 27/11/09 – 3/12/09).

The analysis shows that after what has been a challenging year for many, the public are spending their money on Cornish online shops.

Rob Edlin of Niddocks said:

“This year we have also seen a tremendous increase in overseas sales online too as businesses start to take advantage of the various techniques for marketing their businesses abroad.”

“Businesses are always being told by the media that online spending is increasing and we’re delighted to see this reflected in actual sales in the county this year.”

“The interesting thing about this brief study is that it focuses on locally run businesses in Cornwall rather than the big well known names where the national press tend to focus their attention.”

“Cornwall is an excellent location for ecommerce businesses and will develop even faster once Next Generation Broadband is available.”

The Niddocks report shows that some of the sites reviewed saw turnover increasing by over 300%. Rob Edlin says that these were sites that have been established for some time and already had a substantial turnover online.
