Cornwall Airport (otherwise know as Newquay Airport) has plans to bring in more flights from across Europe and other cities in the UK. On 4th January 2011, Air SouthWest launched its daily route to Cardiff. This service takes just half an hour to travel across the water to the Welsh capital, but cuts almost three hours off the road-journey time.

Air SouthWest also announced some not-so-good news a week later. The service linking Cornwall, Plymouth and Gatwick Airport is being stopped on February 1st. The plan for the airline is not entirely clear at this point – but at least we can hear what the bosses at Cornwall Airport want to achieve in 2011.
