We carried out Media Training for Newquay Zoo – here is their video testimonial:
Video client: “It’s been great working with you both and I’ve been very impressed with the quality of your work.”
Mel Richardson, Cornwall & Isles of Scilly LEP
Video client: “Thanks for this looks very good, it has been a pleasure working with you, I thought your whole approach was great in terms of preparation and project management, really pleased with the outcome which has met our requirements on a tight budget.”
Justin Daglish (Minus Engineering)
Media training client: “We approached Matthew from KernowPods for some bespoke media training for the senior leadership teams across the prep and senior schools. He delivered a one-day session which was excellent in terms of content, relevance and interaction. We all went away feeling more confident in dealing with media issues and with a plan to take forward.
Tessa Nichols – Head of Marketing, Truro School
Media training client: “Matthew provided ShelterBox with a lively and well thought out programme of media training. His technique of asking me to consider an unfolding story from different perspectives was effective, as were the ‘on camera’ sessions and the inevitable critique. Matthew’s style is very relaxed, but he clearly has a wealth of broadcast experience, and I’d be happy to recommend his media training to others.”
Alison Wallace – chief executive Shelterbox
Video client: “We engaged KernowPods at very short notice in the lead up to Kernow Fest- a one day festival celebrating Cornish Culture, Food and Heritage. Following our initial meeting they immediately grasped what we were trying to achieve and delivered a 2 1/2 minute film that truly captured the spirit of the day. This was no mean achievement given the event offered 9 hours of music, a food fair, a craft show, 3 theatre companies and concluded with fireworks. Through diligent planning they identified key activities to film, enabling them to work independently and unobtrusively throughout the day and managed to edit and upload the final film within 48 Hours. I can highly recommend them and look forward to future collaborations.”
David Rutherford (Heartlands Cornwall)
Video client: “Inclusion Cornwall employed Matthew Clarke (KernowPods) to support the development of the Inclusion Strategy for Cornwall. We commissioned a series of video clips focusing on what the general public felt about inclusion and how they were included in society. This was a difficult brief as the term inclusion is complicated. Matthew was able to fully grasp our objectives for the video clips and carried out the filming expertly. The final clips were ready to use well within the agreed timescales and we have used them at workshops across Cornwall where they have ignited discussion and been of greater use than we could have anticipated.”
Andrea Gilbert (Inclusion Manager)
Video client: “I was really impressed with the way KernowPods approached and delivered our project. We wanted an alternative and cost effective way to deliver some survey results for our Society Cornwall brand through the use of online video. From the initial storyboarding, through the planning, directorship and timely delivery, the team led by Matthew Clarke was efficient and professional throughout. We have continued to use KernowPods on other projects since and highly recommend their excellent service.”
Robert Rush ( Managing Director – PFA Research Ltd)
Video client: “You will be pleased to hear that it (the consultation) went well and that the film was very well received. I think we had about 7 to 8 separate “screenings” with between 3 and 10 people at each screening. Everyone who watched it enjoyed it and felt that it did Bude justice. The only “negative” comment was a complaint that it hadn’t been shown on the BBC! It worked very well as a lead-in to the discussions and helped those who weren’t familiar with all the local issues begin to think about them. Overall the project went well and thank you for your input. I hope that the opportunity arises for us to work on something again in the future. I will keep on the look out for opportunities for you in Exeter.”
Nigel Tremlett – Transform Research
Media training client: ‘Matthew provided a team of Heartlands staff with media training prior to our high profile launch in April 2012. It was a fun and upbeat day, which helped team members understand the variety of media issues that journalists may approach us about. The highlight for everyone was having the opportunity to be interviewed and filmed so that we could see how to improve our communication skills – both verbal and non verbal. The training helped us approach our impending launch with more confidence and I am very happy to recommend Matthew’s services as a media training provider’
Vicky Martin – MD, Heartlands Cornwall
Audio production client: “Your service was exceptional; a quality product tailor-made for the client, with all amendments carried out as soon as they were passed along. The two way process worked very smoothly and you were most accommodating of your client’s wishes and those of their client too. In addition, you did not need to be lead by the nose but were able to use your initiative and expertise to make changes without the need for us to micro-manage things.”
Ivan Poole (Treasure Trails Staffordshire)
Audio production client: Thanks for you quick turnaround on this one much appreciated.
20/20 Projects.
Media training client: “Working with Matthew has been an absolute delight. He has made the scary world of responding to the media less of a mystery and shown me some valuable tips and techniques, which are all truly practical. He is, as always, very professional and someone who knows his industry so well. Great training and very enjoyable.”
Sue Hook Sapience HR
Podcast client: “I am delighted with Matthew’s work, high quality, on time, relevant and met the specification perfectly and great value – I have no hesitation at all in recommending Matthew and Kernowpods.”
Malcolm Bell (Head of Tourism at VisitCornwall)
The project completed
I’ve had the very great pleasure of working with Matthew at Kernowpods on several occasions to record a series of podcasts to engage local businesses in a key contemporary business issue and highlight the support available to assist them. I’ve no doubt that using podcasts is a novel method of communication allowing a more ‘informal’ and hopefully more effective route for dissemination of information to a demanding business audience.
Matthew is a professional operator and uses his journalistic skills to quickly understand the brief and develop a meaningful conversation and story. He turns around the whole exercise very quickly; briefing, conversation, recording, editing and uploading, so it’s timely, relevant and easily accessible.I have recommended Matthew’s services to others and I look forward to working with him again I hope, in the not too distant future.
Hi Matthew, I just wanted to say thank you for the lesson in voice training this afternoon at Eagle House in Launceston. I for one absolutely dread these kind of things as I have absolutely no confidence in front of people whatsoever, which I am sure came across in the training as I probably looked like a startled rabbit, but just wanted to say that you did make it very understandable, informative and beneficial.
Matthew provided voice coaching services to me earlier this year, I love his training techniques. He is superb at really making you understand why you need voice coaching (or voice optimisation) and he helped me gain more confidence and step out of my comfort zone while having the coaching sessions, so much so it became second nature when presenting. I recently gave a presentation and thoroughly enjoyed doing it – everything I learned from Matthew seemed to come to me without thinking about it.I highly recommend Matthew and everyone can learn something from him – Thanks so much!”
